The sacrament of the Holy Communion is one in which we as Orthodox Tewahedo believers receive the consecrated body and blood of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By partaking in the flesh and blood of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we become commune or become One with him. We accept the sacrifice from God for sending his only begotten Son to die on the cross to fulfill the prophecy and so that we may be saved and have eternal life with him. Of the Seven sacraments, Four sacraments (Sacrament of Baptism, Confession, Matrimony, and Priesthood) are received by partaking of the Holy Communion.
Fact:
Four sacraments (Sacrament of Baptism, Sacrament of Confession, Sacrament of Matrimony, and Sacrament of priesthood) are received by partaking in the Holy Communion.
Verse:
“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1 Cor. 11:23-25
“This is the lamb of God , who takes away the sin of the world” John 1:29.
